Topic 5 Simulation Activities

The whole class stands towards a wall of the room without having visibility to the back. A person stands behind them and starts making sounds in the way they want (song, words, sounds at the pace and volume they want in a continuous flow). All other students begin to physically react to the sound stimulus as if listening to the vibrations, rhythm, and quality of the sound. The person making the sounds can alternate with someone else all the time.

Duration of activity: 10-12′

Students are divided into two groups in straight lines holding each other’s hands. One student stands between the two groups/lines. Each group begins to create sound. The group with the loudest sound will prompt the student to head towards it.

Students express in a large circle how they felt or what they understood.
