Topic 3 Skills and knowledge important for an architect

To be successful, contemporary architects need to be:

Imaginative proficient in many areas:

  • technical drawing and IT
  • new planning tools

Be fluent in mathematics, physics, chemistry and ecology as it is important in determining the details of a building, not only its shape.

Architects should work closely with urban planners and developers and listen to the residents who will use the building they plan for their own use or as a public space.

Finally, they should remember to document their work and keep the documentation as a basis for possible future renovation or even reconstruction, as in the case of severe damage for various reasons, which will be the subject of Unit 3.
